- Awareness campaign on batteries’ hazards and management project (more)
Almidan has implemented the “Awareness campaign on batteries’ hazards and management” project, financed by the Global Environment Facility/Small Grants Programme (“GEF/SGP”), UNDP. It was selected one of the best projects by the International committee on GEF – UNDP>
- Bi’iyat (more)
It aims at encouraging the eco-friendly activities and spread awareness on the environment. Bi’iyat 2004 was an environmental forum gathering: natural reserves teams and committees, eco-tours companies, environmental NGOs, international developing NGOs and agricultural and rural foundations. Bi’iyat included in addition to the forum, eco-tourism and sport activities such as: camping, visiting Ehden Nature Reserve, tower climbing, rappelling, archery and paragliding.
- Reforestation campaigns and creation of a lake in Bnashii (more)
Within the rural development program and environmental management and conservation program, around 300000 trees were planted in Bnashii village and an artificial lake was created in order to supply farmers with irrigation water. The lake was offered to both municipalities of Bnasii and A’rges.
- Sorting at the source the solid waste (more)
Within the environmental conservation and management program, Almidan organized training for trainers on “solid waste management: collection and sorting”, in collaboration with YMCA. The participants were members from the municipalities of Zgharta and Koura, the Lebanese Environmental Forum, LEF, and volunteers from Almidan NGO. They were trained on the technique of collecting and sorting the solid waste.
- Initiating eco-tourism (more)
In order to promote the environmental awareness and conservation, Almidan has organized a workshop on “Introduction to Ecotourism”. Around 50 interested persons participated in the workshop that presented the eco-tourism in general and highlighted the potential natural spots in Ehden and its surrounding (Mazra’et teffah, wadi qadisha…). Moreover, participants had proposed an eco-tourism plan for Ehden.

Within the health sector:
- Diabetes test free campaign (more)
Almidan NGO has organized in August 2008, a diabetes test free campaign at the governmental Ehden Festival in Ehden. Around thousand of persons participated in this campaign.
- The Social and Health Exhibition (more)
Almidan organized in collaboration with Jihane Frangieh Social center of Zgharta, a social and Health Exhibition where YASA, SKOON, Family Planning, Healthy body and Almidan presented respectively their social and environmental programs. 
- Health care campaign (more)
Almidan conducted a dental care awareness campaign in the schools of Zgharta and the surrounding areas. To that effect, informative and electrical toothbrushes were distributed to the children, while dental specialists answered questions and gave advice as to how to take care of ones teeth. Moreover, Almidan organized the pink Rubin breast cancer campaign. 

 
Within the social development sector
- Al-Midan Association Visits the CCCL for Mother’s Day (more)
Al-Midan Association President, Mrs. Rima Sleiman Franjieh, and staff visited the CCCL on March 18th, 2010 on the occasion of Mothers’ Day.

Mrs. Franjieh was welcomed by everybody at the CCCL; and then toured the outpatient and inpatient units to celebrate the day with CCCL kids and their mothers.

There were skillful animators, funny clowns, expert jugglers, guitar playing, gifts and more!

Everybody at the CCCL, especially children and their mothers would like to thank Mrs. Franjieh and all Al-Midan Association staff for this special visit and for making this day even more special!

- Easter 2009 (more)
Easter parade is the one of the many activities that has been organized in Bnachii to help spread joy. Children from all parts of the north, spend time with the bunnies and many characters that were invented for the occasion.
- Equipping the dispensary of Harf Ardé (more)
Almidan equipped the dispensary of Harf Ardé with new medical tools, through a fund from the German Embassy.
- Supporting the Social Development Center of Zgharta known by Jihane Frangieh Center (more)
Almidan NGO has equipped the Children playground room at the Jihane Frangieh Center with special educational and entertainment toys and restored other rooms by painting it joyfully and colorfully.
- Equipping the Elderly Care Center (more)
Almidan NGO has equipped the Elderly Care Center in Kfaryachit with heating supplies, funded by the United Arab Emirates Red Crescent.
- Entertainment activities for kids
Almidan considers childhood an important step in human life. Accordingly several activities have been implemented to spread joy among children such as: an educational entertainment day for children in Koura, Haref Ardé – Zgharta, a visit to the Mysteries of the sea in Jal el Dib and a special animation for the SOS children in the presence of Mrs. Rima Frangieh

Within the rural development and agriculture sector
- Largest Kibbeh: (more)
In order to promote our food production and encourage the rural community, Almidan did the Largest Kibbeh in collaboration with Guinness World Records, within Ehdeniyat 2009. The Kebbeh weighted 233 kg and occupied a surface of 25 m2.
- Artesian well: (more)
With the aim of rural development, Almidan NGO has granted an artesian well to the village of Mejdelaya, Zgharta caza, in order provide drinking water to the area.
- Zgharta repainted (more)
In line with our mission of developing the region, Almidan has repainted the buildings in different fresh colors giving the region a new distinguished look. In 2004, the main road in Zgharta has undergone a total lifting operation. This has positively influenced residents and visitors equally.
