Agriculture activities

Zgharta caza is an agriculture area where several types of cultivations are encountered, such as: olive trees, apple trees, orange trees, pear trees and vegetables. However, this sector is facing major problems at the national level, mainly in the marketing matter. Therefore Almidan has launched three projects to promote and support agriculture production:

- Creating Small food factories (The first factory to be launched is the “Kebbeh Zghartawiyé factory” where the 25 different types of Kebbeh will be made by the women of Zgharta caza and delivered to everywhere. More food factories are to mentioned on time )
- Promoting olive oil (Zgharta caza encounters 27% of the total Olives’ Lebanese production. Accordingly, our caza produces an average of 2 millions tanks of Olive fruits and 400 thousand tanks of olive oil. However, our farmers are facing marketing problems among several difficulties, even though the quality of their production is one of the best. Therefore, Almidan decided to launch the project of promoting olive oil where special marketing package will be done and where new markets will be identified to advertise the products.)
- Creating small agriculture factories (Al Midan is preparing the studies to implement several small factories in the beauty domain, the food and beverage domain and in the pharmaceutical domain.
Our strive towards the prosperity of our people and our region is complemented with our aspiration to deliver high level international standard products. This drove us to team with international foundations and institutes to achieve these targets.
We hope that these successive steps will have their impact on the region economical lifecycle by:
- Helping land owners to sell their entire products
- Encouraging people to invest in this vital sector
- Introducing new kind of agricultural products to our region
- Creating a big number of job opportunities
- Widening the horizon towards the creation of complementary small factories
- Bringing in large sum of liquidity in our local market which will have an influence on everybody’s life and work)
